Language- This magazine has a lot of typical magazine conventions, the font is sans serif meaning that the font s bold and stands out more. There is only one image meaning the main feature is about the artist pictured. The artist is wearing glasses which maybe representative of his style or type of genre. On the left third are smaller features and a quote from the main feature, this is because the left third is usually seen first when seen on a news stand. There is a barcode on the magazine this is an electronically tagging device which specifies different information about the product. There’s a specific colour scheme and by having the artist in black & white he fits in with that scheme. The font is all the same, this gives the magazine a professional feel with a scheme.
Ideology- This magazine is a music magazine, it’s aimed at the Indie scene. The bands or artists featured in the magazine are not necessarily well known but NME highlights them as a music group. Oasis is an Indie band and Liam Gallagher is representing the band as he’s the most well-known member. By using Liam Gallagher the audience can identify that the main feature is on Oasis, the image gets straight to the point without over complicating the magazine. They also use a quote from the feature to attract audiences.

The artist represents the magazine well because NME also push the boundaries of society with no limit reviews and controversial attitudes towards the way they produce there magazines. NME and the artists they use are reprehensive of one another in the way their attitudes are towards society.

Language- This magazine’s masthead is covered by the stars hair, this is typical of this magazine who generally do this by doing this it indicates that the magazine is well known for not all the title to be seen. The magazine also features a date and issue number this gives magazine a more professional feel. Also the ‘splash’ has a colour scheme in which the artist follows, the colour red stands out making the black and white also stand out. The font is also a recurring pattern, the slogan ‘Justin Bieber Super Boy’ suggests a lot about the magazine, they’ve been able to get this interview with this huge star who they describe as a ‘super boy’ this suggests the magazine is popular to be able to have this interview. The magazine’s left third is covered with stories making it easier for the audience to know about the magazine whilst it’s on the news-stands. Also the artists hair suggests he’s something of a ‘super boy’ his wild hairstyles suggest his wild nature and the fact his clothes are slouched and quite laid back suggests he’s confident in the life he lives, it gives the magazine a relaxed feel.

His eyes are what attract attention first about the image, it’s almost like a seductive look between the artist and the reader, it gives a personal connection which maybe not necessarily is there but that’s the feel it gives. The artists name is also in red; this would attract the reader’s attention and relates back to the magazine’s title. The words ‘Super Boy’ are a larger font then the rest of the text on the cover, this is to highlight his status in the music industry and can also be used a sell line. The artist’s clothes also fit in with the colour scheme which makes it more relevant that he’s in the magazine.
Institution- Wenner media is in charge of the production process of Rolling Stones. The founder of the Rolling Stones is Jann Wenner who is also the head of Wenner media. The connection between the production and the editor of the magazine gives the magazine a more professional look and the magazine will be more detailed in terms of getting information right.
